Charlie naively leaves the tri-state area to follow his dreams of becoming an actor in the city to ascertain money for the much needed repairs of his family home while his mother is sick. His newly sub-letted room seems to magnetize an app for making quick money, Wälp, to his phone. As he follows orders Charlie becomes more and more suspicious of the places it takes him. But not as suspicious as he is of his lease-holding roommate who does not seem to work at all.
